***Welcomes job coaches / Friendly and welcoming environment*** Qualifications/Requirements: - HS diploma equivalent / GED (preferred) - 1 year experience in a high-volume kitchen (preferred) - Food Service Experience (preferred) - Strong tolerance for stress, team player, and able to move to different departments - Background check (case by case) / TB Test Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Able to lift, push, and/or pull to 50 lbs. - Able to stand, reach, and stoop for up to 8 hours at a time - Reading, writing, math, and measuring - Work in a kitchen environment - Basic computer skills - Able to communicate effectively with team members and customers - Time management skills Job Duties: - Cold and hot food preparation - works as a line cook - Quality inspection, prep, storage, and food distribution in a safe/timely manner - Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers - Prepare meals based on special diets - Use department equipment in a safe, efficient, and confident manner - Maintain a neat, clean, and sanitary work environment - Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for all food dishes - Prepare foods by operating equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, shred, and trim/cut meats, poultry, or fish for culinary use. - Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records of orders - Follow hospital and departmental policies/procedures including proper food safety procedures - Other duties and tasks assigned by the manager Physical Demands: - Standing and walking constantly (rarely sitting) - Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing 50 lbs. (constantly) - Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling (constantly) - Reaching, handling, and grasping (constantly) - Feeling, talking, and hearing (constantly) - Requires eye/hand/foot coordination Environment Expectations: - High-volume commercial kitchen - Close and narrow workstations - Constant motion and sounds from cooking tools, as well as colleagues
Schedule
Up to 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday / Rotating Weekends and Holidays, Fluid schedule - consistency with AM or PM
Pay
Minimum - $16 per hour
