So many people dream of writing a book, and guess what? Blaise made that dream a wonderful reality!

Inspired by her mom, Blaise decided to share her story and vibrant artwork to spark creativity in others with her book, "The Story of Blaise Megan Eitman." This book captures Blaise’s life, filled with art and color that reflect her journey.

As an artist, she has picked up countless techniques from her family and various teachers, including her sisters and dad. Blaise loves creating art in all sorts of ways! She colors on graph paper with Sharpie markers and turns them into multimedia masterpieces. She enjoys drawing and painting freehand, using stencils, and working on canvas.

She isn’t shy about trying new tools either—big hole punchers and Mod Podge are some she has used to add paper to her creations. One of her biggest projects was decorating a rain barrel with her graph paper art. If you’re interested in Blaise’s artwork, check out Artful 21 at the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio.

But wait, there’s more! Blaise is also a fantastic performer! She’s been acting since she was eight years old and has been part of many productions with The Mandel JCC's Playmakers Youth Theatre, Beachwood Community Theater, Stagecrafters Theatre's Broadway Buddies, and Theatre Agápe.

When she’s not performing, Blaise loves hanging out with her theater friends, coloring while enjoying movies, and belting out her favorite musical numbers. Her car rides with her mom are always filled with the sounds of Broadway, and shopping for art supplies is a favorite pastime.

Blaise receives support from Howard, her Support Administrator at Cuyahoga DD. She appreciates how Howard has helped her find a provider and a driver who takes her to all her activities. Blaise shares, "My provider and driver take me where I need to go, like shopping and errands. I’m busy and my parents can’t always drive me, so having drivers is super helpful!"

With Howard’s support, Blaise makes sure her daily needs are met through JFSA Cleveland. "He listens to what I need and helps set everything up," she says.

Blaise loves being in the spotlight! Last year, she celebrated her birthday in New York City, where she visited The Today Show on Down Syndrome Day and even met Al Roker! She’s also been featured in publications like Cleveland Magazine and The Beachwood Buzz.

If interested in obtaining a copy of Blaise's book, contact her mother at cheryl.eitman@gmail.com.
