Who We Help

Our organization supports individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities, which encompass a range of conditions resulting from limitations in physical, cognitive, language, or behavioral areas. These conditions typically emerge during a person’s developmental stage, can affect daily functioning, and often persist throughout their lifetime.

ARTFUL Cleveland is an Inclusive Place! ARTFUL is an affordable, open community art space for everyone. They offer accessible art classes, artist studio space, and community art events. Their flexible space is available for classes and workshops. ARTFUL also has a community room for gatherings and studio spaces of different sizes that artists can rent. The Neurodiverse Culture Festival is on October 17 in Mayfield. The Neurodiverse Culture Festival is a free event for all ages. It's designed by and for the neurodivergent community, and everyone is invited! The festival celebrates neurodiverse culture through a variety of accessible activities. People with developmental disabilities who live in Cuyahoga County can enter Cuyahoga DD's Winter Card Contest. The selected artist will win $100. The designed winning winter card will be mailed to people and families served by Cuyahoga DD and community partners. A brief artist’s biography will be included anywhere their art is used. The art should feature winter and/or the holiday season. Get out those paints, pencils, markers, or cameras and THINK WINTER! Submission must be mail in or brought in person by October 30. Providers must be DODD-certified, and community organizations must support people in Cuyahoga County to have a table. Table fees are payable by check only: $100 for agency/community organizations and $50 for independent providers. Join us in celebrating Lynne as she enters retirement at the end of the month. She is a Service and Support Administration (SSA) Training Administrator. Lynne started at Cuyahoga DD in 2006 as a support administrator for the Northwest region at the then-Westlake Developmental Center. At Cuyahoga DD, she enjoyed working with a wide range of people and providing information to help them do their jobs more effectively. Lynne believes that having the best information is so important for employees to do their best work for the people we serve. Some of Lynne's favorite memories working at Cuyahoga DD were the holiday cubicle decorating festivities. These times were always a highlight for her, especially when staff competed as teams. "Our aisle at Big Creek Center really brought our A-game every year," she said. She is so proud of the SSA department and the work they do every day, as well as the times they pulled together when something needed to happen quickly. Lynne shares, "They know how to step up and get it done!" Of her service, Lynne said, "It’s been such an honor to collaborate with so many people in every department in my job over the years. I have so many great memories and appreciate the opportunities I was given here." Fun fact: Lynne has a degree in music therapy, and she plays the piano and flute. In retirement, she plans to travel with her husband, enjoy her family, and work on projects around the house.
