Who We Help

Our organization supports individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities, which encompass a range of conditions resulting from limitations in physical, cognitive, language, or behavioral areas. These conditions typically emerge during a person’s developmental stage, can affect daily functioning, and often persist throughout their lifetime.

Give a big cheer to Jennifer, Contract Services Coordinator, in today's Employee Spotlight. Jennifer expresses that Cuyahoga DD is a great place to work! She likes how all her coworkers work together as a team and are always there for one another, offering encouragement, advice, and help. With her supervisor's support, Jennifer is able to give feedback and recommendations to the team while being encouraged to challenge herself. “I have taken on a new role within the last year, and with the support and guidance of my supervisor and coworkers, I have grown a lot in my new duties,” said Jennifer. Jennifer stated she is very happy to work at an organization that has a mission of supporting and empowering people with developmental disabilities to live, learn, work, and play in the community. She wants to share the experience that solidified that she wanted to work with people with developmental disabilities: When Jennifer had to volunteer during her first year as part of her social work degree. She volunteered to assist a Special Olympics volleyball team during practice sessions. The only issue being that she is very terrible at playing volleyball. Yet the team made it a great experience, as they were all very encouraging and cheered her on whenever she managed to hit the volleyball.
