Organizations seek ways to increase social media accessibility, Cleveland Jewish News
Social media, while being a relatively new invention for communication, has become almost necessary in today’s world of technology. However, social media brings its own set of accessibility issues for users that have physical and developmental disabilities.
Often, images, colors, fonts and other aspects of social media can be difficult for users to see and comprehend when they’re using social media platforms. In order to overcome that, some organizations use different tactics to ensure their content is accessible to anyone who wants to view it.
Maria Rodriguez, communication coordinator with the public information and communications department at the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities in Cleveland, explained how she uses social media in a way that is accessible to those that may need the board’s services and to raise awareness about people with disabilities.
