Cleveland Metroparks: Adaptive Outdoor Recreation Open House
Did you know Cleveland Metroparks has outdoor recreation programs specifically designed for people with disabilities including but not limited to individuals with physical, cognitive, neurological, visual, hearing, and sensory impairments? Recent studies show that spending time in nature has positive impacts on our physical and mental health. Cleveland Metroparks, in partnership with MetroHealth, is dedicated to connecting individuals and communities to access natural spaces and outdoor experiences. Get your questions answered and meet Outdoor Recreation staff at this accessible open house, and learn about some of our upcoming adaptive and inclusive outdoor recreation programs such as kayaking, handcycling, camp cooking, fishing and more! Explore some of the adaptive equipment we have available, such as some all-terrain chairs for exploring the park, kayaks, fishing equipment and handcycles. We also want to hear from you about your outdoor recreation experiences, so we can learn additional ways to better serve people with disabilities, their families and caregivers in future Cleveland Metroparks Outdoor Recreation programs. Drop by for a few minutes or stay for the full time. Hot drinks will be available. The open house is open to guests of all abilities who are interested in learning more about outdoor recreation opportunities available for people with disabilities in Cleveland Metroparks.
