Cleveland Metroparks Adaptive Hike & S'mores
Directions: Meet at Garfield Park Program Center.
Ages: 8 and over (Minors between the ages of 8-17 MUST have a participating adult)
Fee: $5
Terrain/Distance: About .5 miles of paved APT that meets ADA standards but still has 2 sets of switchbacks.
Get some fresh air and learn about the improvements at Garfield Park Reservation on this short hike designed for people with disabilities. Stick around after the hike and enjoy a treat by a portable campfire. All s’mores ingredients will be provided. Reasonable dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advanced notice. Hand sanitizer will be available.
Thanks to a grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, an all-terrain Action Trackchair is available to the first person requesting use of the chair. Thanks to a CCBDD grant, a GRIT Freedom Chair can also be available. If anyone in your party would benefit from program modifications due to a disability, please let us know. One caregiver per person will be permitted to participate alongside the individual with a disability. Caregivers do not need to register.
