Talespinner Children’s Theatre 15th Anniversary Celebration with The Remember Balloons

Talespinner Children’s Theatre (TCT) will open its 2026–2027 season and begin the celebration of its 15th anniversary with The Remember Balloons, a moving dance-theatre production based on the award-winning children’s book by Jessie Oliveros. Performances will take place October 16–17, 2026, at Near West Theatre in Cleveland, with a special 15th anniversary celebration following the Friday evening performance.
Directed and choreographed by Dominic Moore-Dunson, named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2023, with original music composed by Akron-based composer and musician Theron Brown, The Remember Balloons uses movement, storytelling, and imaginative visuals to explore memory loss and the powerful connections between generations.
In the story, young James imagines that everyone carries their memories inside balloons. His grandfather has more balloons than anyone, each holding a treasured story from his life. But when Grandpa begins losing his balloons, James discovers that the memories Grandpa has shared can continue to live through him.
